Justin Peters & Protestia Protect Predators
What do Justin Peters and Benny Hinn have in common? They are both marvelous hypocrites. But the hypocrisy of Peters is far worse than that of Benny Hinn. It is only rivaled by those in his circle. This includes the yellow-journalistic organization, Protestia (formerly Pulpit & Pen AKA “slander and key”), which Justin Peters endorses. While Justin Peters and Protestia have both built names and reputations calling out errors in the church, they have both bent over backwards to implement the grossest double-standards imaginable when their friends are involved. Justin Peters says he’s “befuddled” by the audacity of Jerry Falwell, and yet “befuddlement” fails to capture the magnitude of raging hypocrisy present in these phony “discerners”. Both Peters and Protestia have been partners in ministry and friends of both JD Hall (founder of Protestia and its slander) and Tim Hurd, the Bible Thumping Wingnut Network. [Please note that this article is a hyper-abridgement of the 8hr.+ video series which was posted on August 10, 2022 entitled “The Death of Discernment…”. MUCH more is covered exhaustively in the video series which is embedded in its entirety at the bottom of the article. Extensive timestamps are in the pinned comment.]
As most know by now JD Hall, the founder of Protestia, has been exposed for the absolute fraud and wolf many knew he was for years. This year (2022), he was arrested for DUI and weapons charges, lost a defamation lawsuit, and was kicked out of his church and home for drug use, and physically abusing his wife and one or more children. He is being investigated for assault with a weapon (a knife or cutting instrument of some kind) and strangulation of a partner or family member. Caleb Snodgrass, an elder in Jordan’s church, confirmed to the Christian Post that Hall’s wife Mandy testified that Hall physically abused her and her son. A former member also says that Snodgrass told him, their 10 year old daughter was assaulted in some fashion as well. He has subsequently been excommunicated for failure to repent, and according to the Sidney Herald, documents have been filed with the Seventh Judicial Circuit, and Hall is now facing a felony count of possession of dangerous drugs stemming from the search of his vehicle after his May arrest. Hall claims he had a prescription for Xanax, but a felony drug count would indicate otherwise. Also related to this is the toxicology report which now confirms that JD Hall was lying about having a mere “Vitamin D deficiency”. According to the Sidney Herald, “The toxicology report showed that Hall’s blood had Alprazolam which is the active ingredient in Xanax, as well as Delta-8 THC-COOH.” Delta-8 TCH, “is a psychoactive substance found in the Cannabis sativa plant.” Meaning that Jordan was high on Xanax and there was some Marijuana-related metabolite in his blood as well. Given all of this, you would think that two organizations built upon calling out various corruptions (and sometimes inventing them) would have something to say about such a long-train of abuses. But alas, these foul hypocrites are all too happy to ignore the abuses of their friend as a means of salvaging their own reputations. And no wonder, as Hall himself is a serial-slanderer who has been inventing “dirt” on people while himself being more corrupt than most heathens. Jordan Hall has effectively been writing his own autobiography unwittingly for nearly the past decade. Perhaps we’ll begin with the toxicology report and DUI, as Jordan’s trained minions at Protestia have been covering for him and whitewashing his sins and crimes, most especially, David Morrill, the new co-publisher alongside the corrupt cohort of Jordan, Dustin Germain. We’ll tend to Justin Peters further down.
David Morrill and Protestia recently critiqued an SBC church (here as well) for performing dirty rap songs. But while David critiques others, he himself is an active nightclub performer who sings dirty songs at bars and seduces people, encouraging them in drunkenness and revelry. In fact, his band “Makeshift” was back at it again on Friday August 12, 2022, just 3 days prior to the posting of this article. David was pictured with them in their Facebook post. When the inimitable swindlers at Protestia wrote their piece about the SBC church, they opened with this doozy:
Church by the Glades in Coral Springs, FL, an 8000- member Southern Baptist megachurch continues its celebration of all things fleshly and sinful by singing a cover of Run D.M.C’s Walk this Way.
Note that they characterize the singing of this song as “all things fleshly and sinful”. They go on to take great issue with the lyrics of this song, lamenting, “the lyrics to the song are very sexual.” and, “Lots of euphemism and slang abound.” Mind you, David Morrill is the co-publisher of this entire blog, so whether he wrote the article or not, his stamp of hypocritical approval is necessarily on it. But while David and Protestia are lamenting the “fleshly” and “sinful” nature of these “sexual” songs, David the nightclub-dweller himself performs even more “sexual” songs than those he critiques. I suppose he justifies this by adopting a “compartmentalized faith” approach. He’s permitted to engaged in “all things fleshly and sinful” so long as it’s not on Sunday morning. He does his sinful living on Friday and Saturday night instead, which makes him much more pious than those in his article. At this rate, David is a shoe-in for a position as a Catholic priest. Since Protestia is so concerned with the nature of the lyrics, I’m sure the whole team is eager to evaluate the stuff David Morrill sings with his band.
Here are just a couple of song titles and corresponding lyric excerpts, which David Morrill is on video singing in front of drunken bar patrons:
DNCE – “Cake by the Ocean”
Talk to me, baby
I’m going blind from this sweet, sweet craving, whoa
Let’s lose our minds and go fu@%ing crazy
Ah ya ya ya ya I keep on hoping we’ll eat cake by the ocean…
God d@%n
See you licking frosting from your own hands
Want another taste, I’m begging, “Yes, ma’am.”
I’m tired of all this candy on the dry land, dry land, oh
This song is about having illicit sex on a beach, complete with expletives and G-ds. Cake by the ocean is a euphemism for raunchy sex.
Rick James – “Give it to me Baby”
Give it to me baby (give to me baby)
Give it to me baby (give to me baby)
Make it hot like you’ve had enough
Give it to me baby (give it to me baby)
Just give it to me baby
Give it to me baby (give it to me baby)
I’ll make you hot like you had enough….
When I was high as the sky
Out all night just dancing
You say let’s go home (c’mon, I’m tired let’s go home)
That’s the time I start romancin’…..
Give it to me
Give me that stuff
that funk
that sweet
that funky stuff
This song is about doing drugs and having illicit sex.
So, while David Morrill is decrying the “dirty” rap songs, he is singing songs more overtly sexual and generally disgusting than the SBC church was. How this fraud and his group says these things with a straight face is beyond me. Hollywood has more integrity. You can watch the actual video of him performing his nightclub act in the “Death of Discernment” video at the bottom of the article, Part VIII. of the series. One wonders if Justin Peters has anything to say about this fraud whom he has endorsed? Yet another example of Peters’ lack of discernment (to say nothing of David Morrill the immoral.)
When David Morrill isn’t moonlighting as a nightclub performer (see Part VIII. of the video posted below @ 6hrs. 18min.), enticing people in drunkenness and revelry and singing filthy songs about sex and drugs, he’s perfecting his hypocrisy in whitewashing the sins and crimes of his mentor, from whom he learned well. While there are many coattail riders in the world and Christendom, it takes a special level of degeneracy to want to ride the coattails of one as patently unhinged as Jordan Hall. But when you’re engaged in activities such as routinely singing songs about illicit sex and drug use in nightclubs or sending anonymous letters to people’s homes with pictures of their homes enclosed to intimidate them, then Jordan Hall is the natural mentor to further develop the instability. And yes, David Morrill did in fact do this as well. He took photos of schoolboard member’s homes and sent them along with anonymous letters voicing his opposition to mask mandates. This sparked a criminal investigation and after David Morrill’s fingerprints were found on the letters, he was questioned. You can view the full story on CBS Colorado YouTube channel. Unsurprisingly this deranged man sought out Jordan Hall’s mentorship in much the same way pigs and flies seek out dung (yes, the analogy is sadly apt). “But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: ‘A dog returns to his own vomit,’ and, ‘a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.'” (2 Peter 2:22). One wonders how far he will follow in the footsteps of Hall as he appears set to outpace him in full-blown lunacy. Opposing a mask mandate is one thing, but taking photos of people’s homes and sending implicitly threatening letters anonymously is to join the ranks of darkness in opposition to Christianity. As much as I tried to warn people about the dangers of Jordan Hall since 2018, I’m warning now likewise about his protégé, David Morrill. Justin Peters supports David Morrill and Protestia and shares their articles. Does Justin Peters condone this activity as well? It should be noted that Justin Peters knew that JD Hall was the publisher and founder of Protestia and yet he has been sharing their articles regularly for quite some time.
After the May 11th arrest of Jordan Hall, David Morrill promptly wrote an article defending his disgraced mentor. This sycophantic behavior is sadly predictable in the reformed camp in general, but especially among the cult of Jordan. In it, Morrill resorts to blindingly ignorant mantras typically seen among followers of Benny Hinn and his ilk. He characterizes those who disbelieved Jordan’s clearly untenable excuse as, “ill-informed responses, and accusations from JD Hall detractors.” This sets the ironic tone as David Morrill was not only “ill-informed” but deliberately persists in self-delusion. He states:
First, JD Hall doesn’t drink. Second, he was pulled over for stopping at an intersection with the front tires of his daughter’s Malibu over the ‘stop line’ which cut into the bike lane, not for some sort of overt, callous reckless driving as some have purported.”
David Morrill is presumably a “back the blue” mantra-touter as Protestia has criticized Jackie Hill Perry for endorsing the “defund the police” movement. And yet here he presumes to know more than the arresting officer about what happened and about how to enforce the law. This is the same man who claimed to several people that it was “illegal” to share public criminal justice information when he was trying to intimidate them into silence concerning the police investigation into his friend Jordan for “assault with weapon” and “strangulation of partner or family member”. He was more interested in protecting a predator than he was in defending innocent women and children. Starting to see a pattern? How despicable. Back to his statements on Hall’s DUI arrest. He immediately calls into question the integrity of the police officer and offers insights as if he were present. This is a form of false witness (something which Protestia is known for and works at), basically in reverse. The police report and reality both contradict David Morrill. But that won’t assuage his denial. While it may be true that Jordan doesn’t drink, we now know that he is addicted to drugs and facing a count of felony drug possession according to the Sidney Herald. Morrill goes on to regurgitate the patently false narrative of a “vitamin D deficiency” as the explanation, which Jordan’s own church has contradicted since. Protestia’s tagline is: “Because discernment is a gift of the Spirit”. Indeed. Just not a gift possessed by anyone at Protestia. Who’s “ill-informed” now? Morrill continues,
Once the toxicology results come back, we will eagerly and gladly publish the results in full and have zero compunction about doing so.”
As stated above, the toxicology reports have come back according to the Sidney Herald, and unsurprisingly, Protestia has failed to deliver on its promise. Maybe they’re confused about the definition of the word “compunction” as it seems that’s exactly what they suffer from. Not only do they have compunction about publishing the toxicology results, they refuse to address anything their master has done, with the lone exception of making a deliberately obscured and woefully incomplete statement regarding Jordan’s disaffiliation from Protestia the day the church announced he was disqualified due to Xanax abuse (they also tried to cover-up the abuse of his family until the reports were published here). Protestia didn’t have a choice in the matter at that point. Yet they have utterly refused to publish the testimony of Jordan’s own church, given in an interview with the Christian Post, that he was physically abusive to his wife and children. They have opted to hide behind the old, “we’re not mind readers” defense, stating they simply can’t adjudicate these things from afar. How convenient. If Protestia doesn’t work out for these hucksters, they can all apply for positions at CNN. Morrill also stated they were prepared to follow the lead of the church. Well, effective July 24, 2022 (3 weeks prior to this article being published) the church publicly excommunicated JD Hall due to his failure to repent for abusing and deceiving people but there is still no hint of an article about it from hypocritical frauds at Protestia. They have had more than enough time and testimony to report on this and they refuse in order to accommodate predatory behavior in their ranks. In fact, I’m willing to offer a prediction now: Protestia will vehemently attack me with vile slander and false witness to deflect from their own corruption, as is their M.O., before they address the verified and corroborated accounts of the predator, Jordan Hall. Mark my words. These people have less scruples than most of the world and are positively evil. Meanwhile they’re pumping out articles daily about any perceived corruption from afar, while desperately trying to bury the heinous and criminal dealings of JD Hall. Sometimes it seems “hypocrisy” is not a strong enough word to describe these imposters. I guess it should be no surprise that Jordan Hall was on the board of directors for the Bible Thumping Wingnut, led by his friend Tim Hurd, whom Jordan and all the crew at Protestia knew to be “completely disqualified” from ministry.
The Bible Thumping Wingnut’s defense of the predator and abuser, JD Hall, makes much more sense when you realize Hall was on the board of directors and that Tim Hurd himself is disqualified from ministry. JD Hall was aware of this and they mutually propped each other up. That’s right. While Pulpit & Pen turned Protestia has built a name disqualifying people at will, and becoming synonymous with yellow-journalism in the process due to their penchant for lies and slander, they make exceptions for their friends. Prisons are filled with less corruption than Protestia. But given Jordan’s new litany of criminal activity, the prisons may be more infected still. Tim Hurd of the BTWN news network, is on record numerous times in past several years stating that he’s disqualified from pastoral ministry due to sexual sin. Seth Dunn, the “senior correspondent” at Protestia (a lofty title for a professional liar and deceiver) even wrote an article defending Hurd after apologia church exposed him for repeatedly slandering them due to jealousy. LISTEN HERE. Dunn acknowledges Tim Hurd’s disqualification from ministry, writing,
For 12 years Tim Hurd worked in full-time ministry. He eventually disqualified himself from the pastorate due to engaging in immoral behavior. He now makes his living as a truck driver in the Northeastern United States. Though no longer a vocational minister, Tim remains passionate about evangelism and apologetics. In 2012, he started a YouTube channel called the “Bible Thumping Wingnut” to preach the gospel and encourage other Christians.”
Not only did Seth Dunn write this, but JD Hall himself edited it. So, as long as you’re a friend to the false witnesses that are Protestia, you can be disqualified from the pastorate but still engage in other online ministry, a standard they have never implemented for anyone else. Again, how convenient. This alone is enough to render every past and future critique from Protestia about anyone an absolute joke. This organization is so laughably fraudulent they could make the ACLU blush. Until or unless Protestia publicly admits its deliberate double-standard and fraudulence in knowingly propping up a disqualified man to a public online ministry, and publicly calls for Tim Hurd to step down and delete his YouTube channel and website, then we simply cannot take them seriously. Every critique they offer of anyone without these actions solidifies them as a complete laughingstock.
It’s truly unbelievable. Tim Hurd believes one can be disqualified from the pastorate but continue in ministry online. Ok, then. Unless the Protestia predator-protectors are prepared to admit that they believe you can do online ministry so long as you’re not a “pastor”, and repudiate every form of critique they’ve ever offered which contradicts this, Protestia should be placed in the garbage where it has always belonged. Frankly, garbage is more beneficial to you than the soul-polluting drivel these devils pump out. These are their own standards, folks.
JD Hall, David Morrill and the Polemics Report have been hosted by Tim Hurd’s BTWN podcast network for years. That’s the point. It’s all a network and as long as you are a part of it, the standards don’t apply to you. Many Catholics and Mormons show more consistency and integrity than these clout-chasers. Tim Hurd has been busy ingratiating himself to some big names in the reformed camp, including, Justin Peters, Phil Johnson, Todd Friel, securing the hearty endorsement of all of them with the full knowledge that he admits to being disqualified from ministry. He is even supported by the Jesus-statue-having, Catholic-lite pirate, Chris Rosebrough who invented a game called “Prophecy Bingo” as a way of being even more shameful than those he exposes. The Bible Thumping Wingnut has essentially become a John MacArthur update channel and as long as you have the same idol, or same corrupted mindset, men like these will scratch your back if you scratch theirs. So it is with Justin Peters, the hypocrite among hypocrites, who has been a friend and partner of the disqualified Tim Hurd for “the past several years”, even participating with him at conferences and sharing his posts. Before we tend to Justin Peters’ deliberate lies about his dangerous and abusive friend and ministry partner, Jordan Hall, whom he has enabled for the better part of a decade, we’ll briefly address his friendship with and endorsement of BTWN and Tim Hurd.
If hypocrisy were an Olympic event, Justin Peters would be more decorated than Michael Phelps. In fact, this entire network appears to be a competition of who can out-fraud who. “To do evil is like sport to a fool” (Proverbs 10:23). Justin Peters has publicly declared Jerry Falwell to be, and I quote, “utterly disqualified from any kind of Christian ministry,” despite acknowledging that he’s not a pastor. Yet when Peters’ own friend and ministry partner, Tim Hurd, says he’s “completely disqualified”, Justin makes an exception, joining him in conferences and endorsing his ministry. Why? Because Justin is not what he appears to be. While putting forth an image of sincerity and humility, Justin Peters is the epitome of insincere and proud. Hypocrisy and humility cannot coexist. And like Protestia, Justin Peters has spent time disqualifying people at will, and all the while knowing his friend Tim Hurd was disqualified by his own reckoning.
Tim Hurd has stated clearly,
Those of you who know me. I used to be a pastor. And I’m completely disqualified from being a pastor.”
Guess who knows Tim Hurd? Justin Peters does. On April 13, 2021,Tim Hurd said, “Justin Peters Ministries is a friend of BTWN.” And indeed he is. Will Justin Peters offer yet another “mea culpa” and resort to lying and claiming ignorance? How many people have to be led astray while Justin Peters hides behind lies feigned ignorance? He didn’t allow Michael Brown to use this excuse when it came to his friends in the hyper-charismatic group, and he condemns himself by his own standard, AGAIN! Until or unless Justin Peters publicly calls for his friend Tim Hurd to step down from his online ministry as he has done for others whom he deemed disqualified, then every critique from Justin Peters, past and future is an absolute hollow joke. Again, this is his standard, folks. If he refuses to do this, then Justin Peters needs to publicly issue apologies and retractions to those he has deemed disqualified from “any kind of Christian ministry”, including Jerry Falwell and many dozens more. Barring either of these options, Justin Peters remains a man who employs “Diverse weights and diverse measures,” and scripture tells us, “They are both alike, an abomination to the LORD.” (Proverbs 20:10)
But Justin Peters simply cannot be stopped. The inertia of his hypocrisy and self-preservation have blinded him and seared his conscience to the point of premeditated lies about things he knows can be easily disproven. This is how you know the delusion and/or desperation has set in. Justin Peters has also attempted to whitewash the sins and crimes of his ministry partner, Jordan Hall. When he recently joined his friends Phil Jonson and Chris Rosebrough in a video to do damage control in the face of yet another glaring example of their complete lack of discernment and surplus of corruption, Justin Peters did something that surprised even me. After Phil Johnson stated that he had stopped quoting Jordan 3 or 4 years ago, Justin added this,
And I… same as Phil… I… for the last several years, uh, I have not publicly connected myself with Jordan. I’ve not promoted any of his teaching…”
It’s really difficult to comprehend how Justin Peters could lie with such shameless ease unless you count him among the unregenerate, knowing he was preaching at Jordan Hall’s church only 16 months prior to this statement. Justin Peters went to Jordan’s church on March 7, 2021 and said this (emphasis mine):
It is a joy to be with you… it’s a joy to be back, I appreciate so much Jordan’s friendship and the kindness and support that he’s shown me…. But, uh, your pastor puts up with you folks, and he shepherds you, and uh, so I have a world of respect and appreciation for all of our faithful shepherds out there. I truly, truly do. It’s good to be with you.”
So, he lumps Jordan in with all the “faithful shepherds” and lauds him as a friend whom he appreciates ONLY 16 MONTHS prior to outright lying about not connecting with him publicly in “several years” and stating that he simply couldn’t endorse him. Justin Peters and Co. state several times in that video that Jordan could not be trusted and used the term “yellow-journalism”, suggesting they had concerns for years. Phil Johnson actually said that Jordan did more harm to the cause of truth than many of the liberal he opposed, and Justin Peters agreed. Yet never once have any of them voiced this concern publicly. Many suspect it’s partly due to Jordan knowing where the proverbial “bodies are buried”. He knows the things they have enlisted him to do for them. There are few who would dare to lie with such impunity even among the most hardened worldlings. Leave it to Justin Peters, a man whose entire image is that of a humble discerner, to be so vile and without conscience. “Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” (Matthew 23:28). The fact that he has supported JD Hall since the 2014 suicide of 15 year old Braxton Caner after Jordan publicly bullied the teen online, was enough to call into question the integrity of Justin Peters and all those who did likewise. But like a train without brakes, Peters’ hypocrisy has gained too much inertia at this point. It was revealed by a former member of Hall’s church that both Justin Peters and Phil Johnson were among those who helped the church make decisions to Jordan’s benefit, essentially acting as de facto elders. Former member Chris Howard wrote to me (emphasis mine),
I was present in the FBC when the announcement was made prior to the defamation trial that JD would need to take a week away from his pastoral duties in order to prepare himself. The church was told he was worn out from his vitamin D deficiency and he would need to be relieved of his pastoral duties with the exception of preaching for one week. Other elders within the church would take care of the other pastoral duties during this time. Specific mention was made that the council of elders had conferred with Justin Peters and Phil Johnson while making this decision.”
Both Peters and Johnson are skilled deceivers who pretended they were very distant from Jordan Hall while actually being involved in his church’s decision-making process. Jordan Hall himself apprised the world that he had lunch with Justin Peters at the Cracker Barrel not too long ago. Audacity, gall, temerity; these are not strong enough adjectives to describe this effective con-artistry. Justin Peters is truly more of a deceiver than Kenneth Copeland. At least Copeland is upfront about wanting your money. Justin Pretends he’s helping you discern, while knowingly deceiving you and hoisting you into the arms of wolves like JD Hall or Chris Rosebrough. He teaches people to be hypocrites like himself and sets a snare for their souls in the name of “discernment”.
Justin Peters has yet to utter a word about Jordan Hall’s abuse of his own family as corroborated by the same church which conferred with him to make decisions to Jordan’s benefit. If Benny Hinn or Michael Brown had committed such atrocities, Justin Peters would have done an emergency livestream to cover it. Protestia would have posted half a dozen “BREAKING!” articles to cover this kind of corruption. But not for their friend. They implement abominable unbalanced weights and measures and lie by silence as true cowards; in their heart they murder those who expose their corruptions; they sell exorbitant memberships and merchandise, betraying their covetousness (which is idolatry per Colossians 3:5); their hypocrisy and the presence of these habitually corrupt practices betrays their true unbelief; all of which are listed in Revelation 21:8, “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
As stated above, a prediction is offered here. Not only will they not address the serial corruptions of JD Hall with any specificity, but Protestia and/or Justin Peters will resort to attacking me (as they have tried previously on multiple occasions) inasmuch as the Pharisees resorted to attacking Jesus with false witness and vehement lies in retaliation for His justified rebukes of them. They cannot possibly refute the evidence presented as their own words and standards indict them. These things are so damning to their image and credibility that they simply have no other option as they have long ago ruled out repentance in favor of self-advancement and the cementing of pride and delusion. Justin Peters has already begun frantically commenting on the video series trying to obfuscate, spin-doctor and deflect in the face of irrefutable evidence of his lies. Protestia was founded by a man who speaks his native tongue when he lies. When religious hypocrites become desperate, they do desperate things as we have seen historically and in this particular group as well.
As a servant is not above his Master and the same spirit of the scribes and Pharisees resides in them, the same tactics used against Jesus will undoubtedly be implemented in some form:
Will they join forces with anyone, even their known enemies?
“Then the Pharisees went out and immediately plotted with the Herodians against Him, how they might destroy Him.” (Mark 3:6)
Will they send out spies so to speak?
“So they watched Him, and sent spies who pretended to be righteous, that they might seize on His words, in order to deliver Him to the power and the authority of the governor.” (Luke 20:20)
Will they seek the testimony of false witnesses?
“Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death” (Matthew 26:59)
Are they plotting by some trickery of sorts?
“Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people assembled at the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, and plotted to take Jesus by trickery and kill Him.” (Matthew 26:3-4)
The scriptures give us insight as to why these men were so infuriated at Jesus in Mark 11:15-18:
So they came to Jerusalem. Then Jesus went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He would not allow anyone to carry wares through the temple. Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” And the scribes and chief priests heard it and sought how they might destroy Him; for they feared Him, because all the people were astonished at His teaching.”
