Why I Can No Longer Endorse Jacob Prasch & Moriel Ministries

 

What follows is a letter I sent to Jacob Prasch, the Moriel board, and approximately 85 of its affiliates on August 3, 2021. It was preceded by a similar letter sent to Jacob Prasch and the Moriel board plus a dozen or so affiliates on March 31, 2021. For four months I waited for some adequate response to my very serious concerns and none was forthcoming. Hoping against hope that repentance might come, I did not want to make this public immediately, but extend the requisite grace, that I might see these things sufficiently addressed in a closed setting. Within hours of sending my letter, Jacob himself responded by saying that I was “troubled” and suffering from “temporary insanity”. He then began claiming I was disqualified from ministry due to patently false allegations against me which he himself has rightly defended me against both publicly and privately, knowing the truth. This was all a desperate attempt to deflect from these well measured concerns; it is pure and obvious retaliation. His own words will condemn him and have already. Sadly, in my conclusion, I predicted he and Moriel would be inclined to respond in such a way. In fact, nearly everything I predicted in my conclusion came forth within 24 hours. Moreover, it contradicts Jacob’s own disposition toward me in which he has posted many of my videos to Moriel TV, publicly endorsed Servus Christi Ministries (literally on video within the past few weeks) and has begged me to film another video with him several times in the past few months. He has resorted to such bald-faced lies, that despite the contents of this letter even I am astounded at how brazenly and unflinchingly he hurls them. Sandy Simpson mockingly and belligerently responded by saying these were “wacky accusations” and that I “drank the kool aid”. John Haller responded to one person by saying my allegations were “categorically false.” As it is evident that they have not only not repented, but added calculated and vengeful false witness to their litany of habitual sins enumerated in the following letter, even contradicting their own public and private remarks concerning me, I owe it to the larger Christian community and those whom I have pointed toward Moriel and Jacob Prasch to tell them why I cannot and will not endorse Moriel any further. This letter was a long time coming. Wanting to “believe all things” and “hope all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7), this has regrettably come likely much later than it should have. I admit this fault. Nevertheless, I did not heed spurious charges against Jacob and/or Moriel but diligently sought out the truth independently, not wanting to falsely accuse someone I have been taught by so appreciatively. I then waited four months for an adequate reply to my first letter, which addressed many of the concerns listed here. Having witnessed many of these things first-hand and having addressed these concerns many times over the course of many months, it is with sadness and heaviness of heart that I present this most unfortunate letter it its original form (with one addition at the end of section #8, and one inserted picture). May the Lord dispel any confusion from those who truly desire to live for Him and who have benefited from Jacob Prasch and Moriel even as I have. As someone who has learned from, endorsed and defended Jacob Prasch and Moriel, I have a solemn responsibility to address these concerns to all who may be led astray by them, and in so doing, honor the Lord by simple obedience.

(Immediately upon receipt of this letter I was contacted by Amos Farrell, whom I mentioned in it. Far from being upset with my sentiments toward him in this letter, he agreed and admitted regret for his involvement in certain events during his tenure with Moriel. He also shared his own concerns, including many things not even mentioned in this letter which are worthy of their own letter. I appreciate Amos’ willingness to be humble and introspective, admitting fault where it was and desiring to move forward in truth. I see his response as genuine. He said he is in full agreement with this letter. Amos was a board member with Moriel for a period of approximately 1 year or more.)

It is with tremendous regret and reluctance that this letter is being “penned” at all. If I can be faulted with anything as to the concerns here addressed, it is that they have not been addressed sooner, or at least not as forcefully and directly in the presence of many witnesses as is now being done, though I have raised many of these concerns to both Jacob and the Moriel board; concerns heretofore unaddressed by them in any meaningful way. I sent a letter to the Moriel board on March 31, 2021, which was almost completely sidestepped. Jacob responded, but not to my actual concerns. That letter is attached in this email as well. Dave Royle, Sandy Simpson and Mike Benade were among those copied in it as well, and they all ignored it, along with the rest of the Moriel board. Another brother named Art, who has been a supporter of Moriel longer than I have even been a believer also voiced similar and overlapping concerns two weeks ago (July 19, 2021) in an email. Moriel’s response completely sidestepped at least 90% of what he wrote and deflected the other 10%. His letter was candid but gracious, and like mine was met with no meaningful response to anything substantive. Long suffering, grace, benefit of the doubt etc. have all been quite exhausted. My vocal, public support for Moriel and Jacob cannot be questioned whatsoever, having publicly defended Moriel in writing and by video at various points. Jacob’s enemies are also mine and as such, it ought to be apparent that I have zero sympathies with them. They have wrongfully accused him (not to mention me) of many false things; things I have publicly defended him against. They have falsely accused him of being a cult leader, an alcoholic and a teacher of Kabbalah for example. These things and many others are vehemently false and those who have perpetrated the accusations are surely doing Satan’s work. I will continue to defend Jacob and Moriel against any and all such false allegations. That does not, however, mean that every charge they have leveled is entirely without merit, unfortunately. Whereas their motives for attacking Jacob and/or Moriel can be clearly established as originating from a very personal place, mine cannot be. So any attempt to portray me as sympathetic with these people is utterly false. Again I stress the reluctance and regret from my part. Yet if I am to do all things without partiality (1 Tim. 5:21), I cannot avoid this unenviable task, which only stands to bring mocking and jeering upon myself not to mention personal loss, likely in the form of friendship. Believe me when I say that this truly hurts me and your judgment ought to be reserved until you have heard my concerns and shed the same tears I have. Let the chips fall where they may. My goal is to follow Jesus my Forerunner, as seeking the glory of God alone in humility and obedience (Phl. 2:8). God is my witness that I take no pleasure in doing this but fear being marked a hypocrite if I do not. May every person reading this “Take heed how he builds on [Jesus Christ]” (1 Cor. 3:10-11)

I appeal to two primary scriptures for the justification of the presentation of this letter to such a large group. One is prescriptive and the other is a matter of inference and applied wisdom, albeit a slightly different scenario. Paul instructs Timothy to rebuke certain elders in the presence of everyone when there is found to be a persistent continuation in sin (1 Tim. 5:20). Although Moriel is not a church per se, we cannot therefore discard biblical principles when applicable, nor pretend that Moriel is not comprised of a group of professed believers. I believe the issues addressed herein are a matter of “persisting in sin” and as such ought to be brought in front of the larger group of Moriel supporters. The other scriptures are Matthew 18:15-17. I am well aware that this is not a personal sin against me. It is a matter of grace that I am even appealing to this, though it is not directly applicable due to the nature of the situation. As previously stated, I have spoken to Jacob about these things in private, and I have sent these concerns to “two or three witnesses” as it were (20 Moriel people) to consider. Unfortunately the majority of those witnesses were not concerned whatsoever. Many of these things have been directly ignored for at least 4 months (some longer) and as such I am bringing it before “the church” (Matt. 18:17) for a matter of consideration. Other scriptures could be appealed to, but I trust this is sufficient to establish the matter as one that has been evaluated without haste and according to the word in good faith and fair application.

I have attempted to condense these concerns into 8 points of consideration. I not only welcome, but strongly encourage any who may disagree with these enumerated concerns to present a point by point refutation. Although I trust that these points are so with merit according to the facts, so prayerfully considered, and so reluctantly addressed as to remove any doubt about my motive or my conclusion, IF, John Haller disagrees, I would especially urge his personal point by point refutation as a seasoned trial lawyer. Please do not mistake this as a haughty challenge, but a matter of practical necessity if I truly am wrong. Given John’s close involvement with Moriel concerning crucial decisions about the trajectory of the organization as a whole, his legal counsel to them, and his long personal relationship with Jacob, I believe it would be incumbent upon him (especially with this legal background) to lay my concerns to rest as well as any I may have unnecessarily conjured in others as a result of this… and I think I also have the Spirit of God. What is set forth below is a recounting of the facts as honest before the Lord and in a candid manner. Words are not minced; nothing is sugar-coated. But please don’t mistake this for personal hostility. I do not take pleasure in this whatsoever, but God forbid He should have to appoint me my portion with the hypocrites. I am being honest in the fear of the Lord and with the hope that this painful message will eventually be received and lead to meaningful repentance. How many times have we heard Jacob warn about those who start well but do not finish well; about those who drift? May the Lord be glorified even in this. This concludes the prefatory notes.

The Good

Moriel has been the source of some of the best and most insightful teachings I have come across as a believer. I have often told others that as a teacher, I regard Jacob as among the top I have learned from, dead or alive. I thanked the Lord the day I discovered teachings from Moriel as they were a cold drink in the desert at that time. As many others, I have been enlightened and guided in God’s word in a refreshing way for several years. Jacob’s stand for truth in an age of apostasy was and is a breath of fresh air and the balance with which the Scriptures are presented is truly a rare thing. Jacob has been very kind and generous toward me personally and I see him as something of a mentor. Jacob and Moriel have been a beacon at a time when errors are so numerous and so subtle and over corrections so common. I applaud Moriel’s willingness to dissociate from those they were once in alignment with as they drifted from the truth and to unwaveringly defend sound doctrine. Being willing to lose platforms because of an unwillingness to bend the knee to certain doctrines such as the pre-tribulational rapture and others is confirming and emboldening. I sincerely believe that the Lord has led many people to salvation through Moriel and has surely built up those already saved with such good teachings as encouraged them to grow and excel in the Lord. The material and teachings available are truly second to none in many ways and I have no doubt that the Lord has blessed the work of Moriel as I can attest to it in my own life. The people I have met at Moriel conferences have been truly a joy to be around, hospitable and altogether warm. I see Moriel as a family within a family of believers. I am in such doctrinal agreement with Moriel, that it is difficult to find any area of meaningful disagreement. The same statement of faith is posted on the Servus Christi Ministries website as well. My public support, promotion, and defense of Moriel have been apparent for all of these reasons. I thank God for all of these things…. Nevertheless, there are these things I cannot condone:

#1 – The Obsession With Deborah Menelaws, Tim Wirth, Hugh “Jocky” Smith, etc.

As many reading this know, I am no friend to the aforementioned in any way. In fact, I have been and will no doubt continue to be a target of theirs. I think these people are collectively obsessed and deranged and their motives are rooted in satanically inspired hate and vengeance. This is evident to most who are being honest. That said, I believe Moriel has succumbed to the trap of the devil in becoming equally obsessed with them. This has persisted for nearly 3 years at this point and has only intensified. It may not appear as clear on the surface as Moriel’s open and public statements concerning them are fewer comparatively, but I have witnessed, first-hand, this consuming obsession. Additionally, the evil motives of this group do not mean they have reached entirely bankrupt conclusions in certain instances. People can come to the right conclusions for the wrong reasons.

In a recent “Word for the Weekend” video, Jacob mentioned “Studio Scotland” no less than 6 times. He repeatedly referred to Deborah Menelaws and suggested that Moriel created RTN TV “Scotland” (at least in part) to present an alternative to Deborah and Stewart’s “Studio Scotland”. This is utterly absurd for reasons that I should not even have to explain. Most people have never heard of Studio Scotland or Deborah Menelaws even in Scotland, much less the United States. To refer to them so frequently as important figures deceiving the nations can be inspired by nothing other than retaliation and vendetta. Jacob himself has told me that her videos receive an average of less than 50 views or so. The fact that he knows this vindicates my concern all by itself. Jacob has stated to me that he wants to make a film to rival “The Daniel Project” to render theirs unnecessary. To suggest the motive is simply to spare people from Deborah’s defense of David Nathan is not merely naïve, but completely ridiculous and disingenuous. Entire messages from Jacob appear to be constructed around jabs at Deborah Menelaws. Jacob has, in all likelihood, single-handedly grown the stock of Studio Scotland with his incessant and contrived references to them over the course of the past few years. When I was still filming Moriel’s videos I had to edit several “This Week In Prophecy” videos because Jacob kept contriving reasons to mention Deborah Menelaws whom almost nobody knows. Anyone who watches Moriel regularly knows exactly what I’m speaking of. I had never even heard of them prior to involvement with Moriel. They are simply irrelevant in the larger scheme of things. Why not present an alternative to Greg Laurie or any number of people who influence vastly larger spheres than the obscure Deborah and Stewart Menelaws? This is personal and has very little to do with doctrinal integrity. Jacob knows this whether he admits it or not.

It’s hard to believe that someone with such breadth of biblical knowledge is being utterly consumed by perhaps the most irrelevant group of people I can think of. The world is crumbling around us, there are deceivers with spheres of influence thousands of times larger than theirs, and someone with so much to offer is targeting and locked in on a couple in Scotland and their adjuncts. Talk about punching below your weight. It’s bizarre and it is to bury talents in the sand at best. Their obsession doesn’t have to be Jacob’s.
This is as much a game of retaliation for Moriel at this point as it is for their enemies. These people have been obsessed and consumed with hate by Satan himself, I am convinced, but Satan is a greater strategist than we often realize and has successfully ensnared many in Moriel (not only Jacob) with a commensurate obsession. It is worth noting that two people in particular have helped fuel this obsession in Jacob, namely Linda MacIntyre and Amos Farrell with Charles Jardine as an honorable mention. These two (or three) have been an integral part in keeping this nonsense alive by giving Jacob daily if not hourly updates about what these people are saying about him. It is unfortunate that he feeds on this, and he ought to know better (and I have voiced my concerns to him and Dave Lister about even this), but they are Johnny on the spot with every update, being used of Satan as distractions, instigators and tempters. They are zealous for Jacob’s approval, but woefully out of step with God’s word and God’s wisdom. This obsession will be further established by several of the following related points.

#2 – Secret “Spoof” Websites & Surreptitious Activity

There are at least two “spoof” websites and one “spoof” bitchute account that I’m aware of that were conceived of and constructed by Moriel and/or its affiliates. Unfortunately I have witnessed lies by technicality several times, so I must clarify preemptively. If the statement is made: “Moriel did not commission these websites” what is meant is that the board of Moriel did not vote upon it. That does not mean that Jacob Prasch or Charles Jardine (for example) did not have anything to do with it. Is it the business of Christ or His ministers to lie by technicality? No. I say that this is the business of Satan and his ministers, and all who are reading this would do well to consider this. Now back to the secret websites that “Moriel did not commission.”

A. I was asked by Jacob personally, well over a year ago (if not more), if I could make a website for the express purpose of exposing Deborah Menelaws. He wanted to make a “spoof” website mimicking theirs and asking the question, “Is this a ministry or a business?”. I asked him why. He said he wanted to expose their business dealings etc. etc. I told him that among other things this was a massive waste of time and that I did not see any value in it. He asked me many times over the course of several months and I declined every time, telling him that it was pointless and profitless. I grew rather agitated by the incessant requests. He finally ceased asking me. Some time later (well after my departure from Moriel), I received a message from him with a link asking me if I was the one who made this certain Facebook page. I checked the link he sent me and found that it was Deborah’s Bethel Communications Facebook page. I asked Jacob what he was talking about and informed him that he sent me a link to their Facebook page and asked him why he thought I created that. I was terribly confused. He then said that it was a “spoof” Facebook page and that he liked it and thought I did it. I went back and took a closer look and indeed it was a fake Facebook page using their logos with links to some website. I clicked on the website and it was a fake Bethel Communications website using their logos but with clearly antagonistic material. It was precisely what Jacob had asked me to create many months prior. There were notes about her secular business and fake messages from “her” in the first person about how she likes to drink Laphroaig scotch etc. This was clearly in retaliation for their claim that he likes to drink Jack Daniels. It also spoke of her home in Fife, Scotland, and she later claimed that personal information of hers was doxxed on this site, perhaps including a picture of her home. It was removed shortly after, so I don’t recall all the specifics. But I knew instantly that this was Jacob’s concoction. But that he asked me, seemingly innocently if I was the one who had done it was rather bizarre. I realized this was a means of establishing plausible deniability if need be. He’s the only one who would have the motive to create such a website, and he had specifically asked me to do it. It appears that he finally persuaded Charles Jardine (who also knows and dislikes Deborah) to build it. I spoke with Dave Lister by phone on December 29, 2020, to voice my concerns regarding this matter, and he told me that he was hoping they (Jacob, Amos Farrell and Charles Jardine) had not been involved in making the fake Bethel website but had been worried they might have been. He said he hoped they hadn’t been that stupid but that he immediately suspected Charles, Amos and Jacob. I confirmed to him that I knew it was Jacob and Charles at least.

B. Charles Jardine also created a “spoof” bitchute account which mocks Tim Wirth. While I find Tim to be a repulsive individual whom I would not even call a Christian, this “spoof” channel is a work of surreptitious vengeance. They attempted to disguise the channel by pretending to be Hispanic. That can be viewed here:

The description in the first link reads:

“The son of an idiot, Worthless was born. He began exploring music as a drummer player at the age of 1, gradually expanding into supporting singers that can’t sing. While a student at the donkey stupid big ears schools, he recorded a damage liability tape which came to the attention of Chris Rosebrough minister of a famous apostate church. Soon afterward, Worthless performed two other songs that are not fit for human consumption a piece composed by the son of perdition, and “Metronome” a song compressed by himself so it could only be heard by his 1st wife. Worthless performed live throughout America until after his high school graduation when he joined an international church performance in apostasy.”

I know Charles created these at Jacob’s direction, and if either of them deny this they will be lying before the Lord. I can also prove it, so let’s move on.

Is this is the work of a ministry whose name means, “God is my teacher”? Where exactly did God teach Moriel that this behavior was even worthy of consideration, much less actual implementation? The argument would have otherwise been, “Moriel did not do this.” But remember, this is a technicality since Charles Jardine is not technically a board member and it was not voted on as such by the Moriel board. Why have Dave Lister, Marco Quintana, John Haller, Sandy Simpson, Mike Benade, Dave Royle and Blair Waugh been silent about this? I brought these “spoof” projects to their attention nearly 4 months ago and not one of them has said a word against this. Why?

“To show partiality is not good, because for a piece of bread a man will transgress.” (Prov. 28:21)

Marco Quintana is supposed to be a pastor and Sandy Simpson a missionary, and yet they have absolutely no problem with this activity and have not so much as responded even to deflect. Mere silence. This is the behavior of hirelings. And what of the rest of the board? Ought this to be the behavior of men who are making decisions for an international ministry that will affect the eternal souls of men? Dereliction of this kind is the sort of thing I have rebuked others for publicly, and ironically, so has Jacob and Moriel. Yet here we are. The ENTIRE Moriel board is responsible for their approval by silence.

C. Everyone reading this is no doubt familiar with the deranged individual who has devoted approximately 3 years of his life to harassing not only Jacob but myself as well most or all of the Moriel board and many affiliates. He accuses us both of being cult leaders. His titles include “tbckawaii” and “Jocky Smith” but his real name is Hugh Smith. To be clear, I was the one who discovered his true identity and disclosed it to Jacob and Moriel. I believe this individual to be an agent of Satan without question. He is a lunatic with an obsession that rivals drug addicts and I’m personally convinced that he and Tim Wirth have a form of reactive psychosis known as querulant delusion or PTED. To the extent that he may have broken the law in Scotland for cyber-stalking and harassment, I fully support any motion for him to be investigated on such grounds. In fact the whole consortium (Tim, Hugh, Deborah, et al.) are so patently deranged that I would question the Christianity of anyone who affirmed them. That said, the obsession appears to have become mutual, at least to a degree. After apprising Moriel of Hugh’s true identity, I specifically implored them not to engage in anything clandestine, but to publish it openly and voice their concerns about this individual honestly. But they did precisely the opposite by apparently using Linda MacIntyre (John Haller’s comment moderator) as something of an errand-girl. Whether they commissioned Linda or not, they were aware of what she was doing. She appears to have created a website called www.nopowerplaypause.com (an established M.O. of Moriel as we have already seen). She at least said that this was her intention and the website exists, so I presume she was behind it. More about Linda will be addressed later. What is interesting about this website, which I’m sure most of you have never heard of, is this curious phrase at the bottom of the page:

…[Moriel & Jacob] ask that we make the following Legal Disclaimer:
Irrespective of our Faith based moral values governing sexuality, Moriel USA accepts the legal right of homosexuals & bisexuals to so identify themselves, and our faith disallows hatred towards them.

Why would Moriel have a statement at the bottom of a website which it has nothing to do with? If they asked that the disclaimer be made, then Moriel was fully aware of this website. That must include Jacob, Dave Lister, Marco Quintana, Blair Waugh and probably John Haller and Dave Royle. Jacob has stated on multiple occasions that neither he nor Moriel have identified Hugh either by name or by photo, as if to deny any involvement in this website. Yet there is a disclaimer from Moriel at the bottom and a Moriel affiliate created the site with Moriel’s knowledge and implicit blessing. They must also have been the ones to divulge the information contained on the website as it came from me and was sent directly to the Moriel board and no one else. To say the site “is not a Moriel production” may be technically true, but is a lie by technicality, again. And so it is a lie by technicality that neither Jacob nor Moriel has identified Hugh Smith. It really makes no sense to lie about this anyway. They would have done well to publish his information in a blog post or video identifying him and the legitimate concerns about him and left it at that. Or if they had some legal counsel to the contrary, then they could have waited. But this is a pattern of petty vengeance and surreptitious activity unbefitting a Christian ministry.

I once asked a question under a pseudonym a few years ago to Deborah Menelaws, as I knew she would not answer honestly if she knew it were me. This was an unwise decision, but my motive was simply to ask her a question and elicit an honest response. I have publicly acknowledged this and also acknowledged that I later spoke to Deborah personally about why I did it and even she understood. Even still, I would not do it today. After this moreover, I spent 4 hours on a Skype call with her and Stewart in an attempt to diffuse the hostility between them and Moriel. I reached an agreement with them to remove certain videos, and they agreed to withdraw the video defending David Nathan after acknowledging that they could not defend his doctrinal stance on certain issues. Nobody else in Moriel even attempted this. Not a single board member tried talking to them. It was me. Sadly it was short-lived, but I tried where nobody else did. I have not, however, made a habit of creating fake websites and pretending I did not. So any attempt to exploit this lone question as somehow synonymous with the premeditated construction of harassing websites and bitchute videos is entirely desperate and an unfounded false equivalence.

#3 – Linda Macintyre & The Veiled Death Threat

Most people in Moriel (I use this term to refer to Moriel supporters on this email list) probably have no clue who this woman is, but as I previously stated, she is John Haller’s comment moderator. She also happens to be sympathetic to Servus Christi Ministries and has said nice things about me. Despite this, my aim is to be impartial and to judge with righteous judgment (John 7:24). While she may mean well, she is at best spiritually misguided and a tremendous stumbling block to those around her, especially Jacob. Jacob himself agrees that she is “dodgy”. I told Jacob that I likened her to the woman in Acts 16 who was following the apostles around saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” The statement was not untrue, and yet Paul was still greatly annoyed with her and cast a demon from her. I am not stating necessarily that Linda has a demon per se, but this is the closest thing in Scripture I can liken her behavior to and I have no doubt that Satan is influencing her. She has seen fit to operate as a sympathetic instigator and apprises Jacob of everything she sees or hears from Tim, Deborah, Hugh, etc. She has wittingly or unwittingly tempted Jacob to vengeance and obsession, but unfortunately he has engaged her willfully and so has the entire Moriel board who has not addressed this. Again, I brought this to their attention 4 months ago. Linda has been used, as I said, as something of an errand-girl. Jacob, Dave, Marco, and John have not only not Shepherded this woman, but have helped stumble her by not putting her on a right path. I expect more from them than I do from her. But they have used her waywardness for their own selfish means. They ought rather to have rebuked her sharply that she might be sound in the faith (Titus 1:13), which thing I am doing now for Moriel’s benefit, whether they see it as such or not.

As Jacob is admittedly cyber-ignorant, he needs people like Linda, Charles and Amos to do this “dirty work” for him. So, Linda has been a go-to proxy for Jacob and Moriel. Jacob has stated that Linda is not part of Moriel. This is all a set-up for plausible deniability. If Linda (or anyone else for that matter) does something at his behest, he can always say, “she’s not part of Moriel.” Which is technically true of most people on this list. As there is no membership in Moriel, this type of statement is one of equivocation. Technically only board members and very few others are “part of Moriel” in the sense he means it. So, Linda receives information from Jacob and corresponds regularly with him as she does with Tim Wirth and others in their camp. She is something of a liaison in this whole debacle. She is the one to let these people know what Jacob wants to say publicly but won’t. It’s all ridiculous and beneath any Christian, much less a teacher who will be judged by a stricter judgment (James 3:1).

As noted in point 2C above, Linda is apparently behind the www.nopowerplaypause.com website and has avidly commented on posts that this group puts up. On or about the time I was made aware of the “spoof” website created by Charles Jardine at Jacob’s direction (www.bethelcommunications.net as I believe it was), there was some veiled threat directed at Deborah Menelaws which was posted on a blog attacking Jacob and/or Moriel. Here’s what was written:

*Hell Deborah you fat smelly mutant tuna fish stinking aids ridden unwanted piece of garbage. Just had a look through your vile websites, not impressed I must say. This is because you don’t even have the strength the put your name on your vile juvenile posts that wouldn’t merit the attention of a chimpanzee. Anyways, pleasure as always! — I guess your still living in that pish stained dump of place through in Scotland’s unwanted zone? (East coast, namely fife?). — I may actually come through one night and pay you a “visit” — ah yes. Anyway, needless to say I will now be moderating your posts, remember this — you may hide behind a fake alias; Alas, so am I, nevertheless I can get to you anytime :-).
Speak soon, you fat waste of space, tell that plank face hubby I was thinking of him, and the kids (oh wait you don’t have any). Caio; Michael.

Whoever wrote this should probably be criminally prosecuted. As John Haller should be able to tell you as a trial lawyer, there are few things more important than motive in the act of prosecution. This is followed very closely by means or ability. So, who would have the motive to write such a personal threat to Deborah Menelaws; a woman few people have ever heard of? I can only think of one person and that is Jacob Prasch. Generally speaking he would not have the ability (being cyber-ignorant) and would need a helping hand as we have seen. Perhaps one might say that a staunch defender of Jacob might have the motive to retaliate on his behalf. This may be the case, but I have personally witnessed Jacob’s rather bizarre mutual obsession with this woman Deborah. As I stated, he asked me numerous time to make a website dedicated just to her. He has stated that they created RTN TV “Scotland”, in part, to replace Deborah’s Studio Scotland, and he wants to do a full length documentary apparently with the express purpose of replacing Deborah’s “The Daniel Project”. I would go so far as to say that Deborah and some around her have become an idol for Jacob, and he appears to view everything through the lens of “payback”. This is not primarily about doctrine or protecting his family. This is about retaliation primarily.

Then there is the issue of “means”. This threat contains very personal details about Deborah which Linda would not likely know on her own, but Jacob does. It is possible that Charles Jardine knows these things as well, but Jacob knows them for certain. For example: the location of her home and the status of her children. This group actually claimed at some point that they traced Linda’s IP address to this comment. As disclosed above, Linda acts as a messenger for Jacob and I see this comment as a possible hybrid. It seems to me that Jacob may have supplied her with certain information regarding Deborah and perhaps suggested that Linda get them back for him. The phrase, “I will now be moderating your posts” rings of a Linda-ism for lack of a better term, so her “fingerprint” appears to be on it as well.

After my March 31, 2021, email to the Moriel board raising this and other concerns, Jacob denied that he was involved in this comment, but said that he suspected Linda was the culprit, only he had no proof. Yet it does not appear that he nor anyone else in Moriel has ever questioned her on this front, nor has Jacob explained why he believes she was the one behind it. With this suspicion on mind, it has also not deterred Moriel nor John Haller from using Linda. She remains in close contact with them. Given the sinister tone of the message, e.g. “I may… pay you a ‘visit’.” and “I can get to you anytime.” why would Moriel not be supremely interested in the author’s identity given that it very clearly came from a Moriel sympathizer if not Moriel directly? So what was Moriel’s official response to this veiled death threat?

#4 Moriel’s Response To The Veiled Death Threat

Shortly after this threat was made, Deborah and Co. accused Moriel of being behind it. They also claimed that they had reported it to the UK cyber-crimes division, and for that who could blame them? While these people collectively count me as an enemy of theirs, I would never dream of commenting in such a way. In response the ENTIRE MORIEL BOARD (Jacob, Dave Lister, Marco Quintana, Dave Royle and Blair Waugh [at least]) issued a statement on the Moriel website which can be read in full here:

Here are some excerpts from the ENTIRE MORIEL BOARD’s comment which we shall evaluate:

– “Moriel only operates one website, and that is its own.”
I suspect this was in reply to an accusation from them that Jacob and Charles were behind the fake Bethel Communications website. Remember the technicalities? It is TECHNICALLY true that Moriel only operates one website, but it is also true that Charles Jardine built a website to mock and retaliate against Deborah at Jacob’s express direction. I know this for a fact and so do they. So this is another lie by technicality.

– “No such person is known to us as ‘Caio Michael’ … We do not even appear to have such a person on our mail list.” and “We conclusively and categorically assure everyone, that we have nothing to do with Caio Michael, and we don’t know who he is. He certainly may speak for other people; but not for Moriel.”
To suggest that they don’t know a person named “Caio Michael” is beyond ridiculous. It is an attempt to portray themselves as so ignorant that it actually has the opposite effect. This was clearly meant to be a salutation which reads, “Ciao, Michael” and that is obvious to anyone with a 3rd grade education. When ignorance is pretended on this level, it generally betrays guilt. Michael appears to be a made up name.

*** – “We cannot comment on his claim that Deborah Menelaws has aids; her personal health issues are none of our business.”
This is huge and cannot be overstated. The original line reads, “Hello Deborah you fat smelly mutant tuna fish stinking aids ridden unwanted piece of garbage.” And to this the entire Moriel board responds by speculating as to whether or not Deborah ACTUALLY has AIDS!? Why didn’t they speculate about whether she is ACTUALLY a mutant? This was clearly not intended to portray a “personal health issue” anymore than a concern that she was a mutant who smelled like tuna. The more I have contemplated this, the more angry I have become. It is holy anger that I can say with all authority God Almighty also feels about this. Dare you provoke the Lord? I don’t know which I find more disgusting, frankly; the comment itself or the Moriel board’s official reply to the comment. Notice how they completely ignore the threat to pay her a “visit” or that they can get to her anytime. Instead, the entire Moriel board focused on a string of vile and vulgar playground insults and then speculated as to the veracity of an actual medical condition simply to antagonize Deborah further. To take a statement from the realm of base insult which is obviously not meant to be true and elevate it to the realm of speculation about a valid medical condition (AIDS no less) is beyond reprehensible. Marco Quinton is supposed to be a “pastor” and yet put his stamp of approval on this garbage. Dave Lister the Moriel administrator for some 30+ years put his stamp of approval on this garbage. Blair Waugh, a gray-headed Canadian administrator of Moriel put his stamp of approval on this garbage. And Jacob Prasch, a man who has likely forgotten more about the bible that I may ever know, appears to be the chief architect of this garbage and the driving force behind most of what we’re discussing here. I presume John Haller was also aware of the statement at the time, and if he wasn’t he has been aware for 4 months since I brought it to their attention then, and he has said NOTHING. Again, I welcome a point by point refutation of everything contained here by John Haller himself. It is worth noting that Steve Davis of Holy Land Design also published this on Moriel’s behalf as the website administrator. I am reminded of the corrupt leaders in Micah’s day who said,

“Is not the LORD among us? No harm can come upon us.” (Micah 3:11)

Leonard Ravenhill once said, “Your doctrine can be as straight as a gun barrel and just as empty.” God pity this shameful display which sullies the name of Christ. This is the OFFICIAL Moriel board statement about a veiled death threat which contains an insult calling her “AIDS ridden”. Jesus Himself would have rebuked you men sooner than this coward has and with eyes of fire. This is unequivocally the work of Satan. Do not say, “The Lord is among us.” The entire Moriel board has had 4 months to contemplate my initial rebuke on this point which should have never been necessary, and they have remained silent. REPENT!

– “Neither do any imagined death threats come from anyone connected to Moriel. Such assertions are nothing short of deranged. No christian ministry could ever engage in such things.”
Firstly the death threat was not “imagined” but is in writing albeit veiled. The term “visit” in quotes coupled with “get at you anytime” are clearly sinister in nature and intended to induce fear of great bodily harm. Denial of this is to play in Satan’s playground. The threat is not direct, obviously, but to dismiss it as merely “imagined” is a hard denial of facts which is usually an attempt to preemptively deflect from responsibility. But the Moriel board goes on to say that to assert that anyone connected to Moriel may have done this is deranged. Well, after my March 31st letter to the board, Jacob replied and stated,

“I have suspected Linda Macintyre, but I have no proof.”

So, is Jacob deranged or is Linda not connected to Moriel? One of these things must be true. Linda is undeniably connected to Moriel. On what basis does Jacob suspect Linda of such a reprehensible act? And if so, why has he not confronted her about it? Why are they still in close contact? Why does he contradict the board’s official statement on the matter? The mere suspicion of such a comment is grounds for serious inquiry. And if he believes it is possible she did this, why on earth are he, Moriel, and John Haller yoked with her? While they deny any involvement in this comment, I have seen enough lies by technicality from them that I cannot simply take at face value what is said. In my December 2020 phone conversation with Dave Lister, he said that Amos Farrell (formerly of Scotland Yard) assured them that the UK cyber-crimes division would not put this as a high priority, but that it would probably remain a level 1 as opposed to an 8 or a 9. Why would he even say this except to assuage the concerns of those to whom it may return? Shouldn’t they desire that the culprit be investigated and caught for reasons of righteousness, to say nothing of vindicating them from the action? This comment is incriminating and betrays more knowledge than Moriel is letting on. It sounded like they had a board meeting about how to do damage control if this ever came back to them. Do they all know that Linda did this? Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and there’s enough smoke here to write this letter in signals.
In a previous Skype call on or about December 2020, I voiced my concerns to Jacob about this and told him there appears to be credible reasons to believe that Linda may have been involved in this veiled death threat. He told me,

“It wasn’t a death threat, and Linda is not Moriel.” (paraphrase but near verbatim)

This is another very curious statement in light of the gravity of the comment. The phrase “so-and-so is not Moriel” is a meaningless comment as Moriel has no membership. Linda is not only a Moriel supporter but is in close personal contact with Jacob on a regular basis which is more than can be said of most Moriel supporters. He only appears to use this categorization when he wants to provide a buffer zone. Immediately dismissing it as “not a death threat” would also not be a normal response for someone who had nothing to do with it. When someone uses the term “visit” (in quotations) as well as the term “get at you anytime.” there is no way to take that except in a sinister manner. He appeared to be deflecting from responsibility in some way. The entire Moriel board owes a formal response to this. Please provide a scriptural justification for why you believe it is within the means of Christian grace to needlessly speculate about whether or not someone has AIDS, while knowing full well that the comment was likely issued by one of your own? Speaking of deflecting, we must now address the proverbial elephant in the room.

#5 Jacob’s Ancestry – Jewish?

Ethnicity is not important in God’s economy, only that you be of the faith of Abraham (Romans 4:16). We all know this. But if willful and premeditated deception is engaged in for some self-serving purpose, then that must be addressed. There are serious questions that deserve coherent answers at this point. This is not a topic I would have ever questioned had it not been for Jacob’s own “defense” on this front. I, like many of you (no doubt), simply assumed Jacob was Jewish. I described him as such to others and for good reason. Firstly, he leads a ministry called “Moriel” which is a Hebrew word. The logo is a menorah. He speaks Hebrew. He lived in Israel. His children were born in Israel and his wife is Israeli. And he bills himself as an evangelist to the Jews. But perhaps greater than these convincers is the introduction we have long heard from him:

“My family are a combination of Jewish and Irish-Catholic. I went to Catholic school and attended the Jewish community center at the behest of my father. Yes, I was dipped and clipped.”

We’ve all heard it. This is an exercise in masterful equivocation. The term “family” is being used in two ways. He is actually referring to the woman he married and to his mother. His wife (whom I adore and pray for) is definitely Jewish. His mother is not. One is his married “family” and the other his blood “family” but these are not the same type of “family”. He often says that his father sent him to the Jewish community center. If you don’t recognize this, the distinct impression is that if his mother is Irish Catholic, then his father must be Jewish and therefore, he must be half Jewish.

The statement, “I was dipped and clipped” is to be ambiguous concerning the implicit religious rites. The phrase “dipped” obviously refers to Catholic baptism and it follows that “clipped” must refer to a Jewish ceremony since the previous statement was about establishing his blended family, i.e. “Irish Catholic and Jewish”, otherwise he would have no reason to tell people he was circumcised as a mere custom in America. Most men here are. In other words, the phrase is intended to convey this meaning:

“I was dipped (as a Catholic) and clipped (as a Jew).”

I heard the accusations about him not being Jewish and ignored them initially. When I was still making videos for Moriel, he wanted to do a video explaining his background. It was so confusing to me that I told him I did not think it wise to post it publicly. This was the first time I questioned the veracity of the claims against him. To be sure, he never said that he wasn’t Jewish. On the contrary, every piece of evidence was designed to establish his Jewishness. Some time later, after I had resigned from my video work with Moriel, Amos Farrell and Jacob produced a simliar video addressing questions about his background and ancestry. Amos also innocently assumed that Jacob was half Jewish and said something about his father being Jewish. Jacob responded by denying this much to Amos’ surprise. But then he brought more confusion in by saying that his wife and children were Jewish, but that he never went to synagogue. So, he seemed to leave open the possibility that he was ethnically Jewish, as he only denied being halachically Jewish having not attented synagogue etc. This is to further equivocate with the term “Jewish”. This word, unlike many others, can have several meanings. Non-Jews can convert to Judaism and become “Jewish” in a religious sense. There are people who are ethnically Jewish but not halachically Jewish. Jacob knows all of this better than anyone.

But Jacob later appeared to reinforce that he was of Jewish descent by a few distinct points:

1. He has referenced burial records that have the Prasch name in a Jewish cemetery. But I know where this information originated. A woman named [REDACTED] sent an email with that link as a means of helping Jacob to defend claims reissued by Chris Rosebrough via Treena Gisborn and others. These are all enemies of mine as well. This information from [REDACTED] came somewhat out of nowhere and was not previously possessed by Jacob. It is curious that one of the main pieces of evidence for substantiating his Jewish background came from a woman not more than a year ago which he did not know of previously.

2. Another woman, Linda MacIntyre again, apparently did some research into his background and said that she found some Jewish name in there. Initially Jacob was agitated and told her to stop nosing around his past. Then she mentioned the name Goldbeck and told him he had Jewish heritage. He seemed to embrace this and has referenced it since. But did not appear to have any prior knowledge of this information.

3. But perhaps most confusing, he showed a DNA report in a video entitled “The 666 Virtue of Chris Rosebrough” (seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nE3MdjETEvM ). He specifically says,

“Let’s look at my DNA.”

At around the 2:39:05 mark, he shows a map with colored arrows on it and begins talking about different empires. At the 2:39:44 mark he says,

“As you see, my DNA came from the middle east, and merged with the Khazar DNA. Even gives the percentages. 12% Khazar… 38% et cetera.”

But this is NOT what is actually on that paper. I know because I have seen another DNA test from the company IGENEA whom he used. Brother Art, whom I referenced in the beginning also has a DNA test from this exact company, and he has the exact map that Jacob showed. It is a generic map that comes with every DNA result to show the types of people you descended from, e.g. Farmer or Hunter-Gatherer. This is the generic migratory map of human history for people group and every person gets the exact same map. If you don’t have an original to compare it to, you wouldn’t know this, but Jacob and (presumably) Amos Farrell, must have erased the words next to those percentages. Not one of those words says, “Khazar”. In fact, if you pause it at 2:39:11 you will not see any words next to the colored bars. So where did he get the word “Khazar” from? He made it up. Or if it was there why would he have edited the words out? Here are the categories represented by the colored arrows and bars on the actual paper as follows:

RED: Hunter-Gatherer
GREEN: Farmer
BLUE: Indo-European
GRAY: Non-European

But this is not even the most confusing part. What is absolutely baffling is that the company IGENEA sends a framed chart with your actual DNA percentages; e.g. “Greece & Balkans”, “Amerindian – North America” etc. If Jacob wanted to prove his DNA was Jewish why would he not show the only paper which would clearly indicate that? As you can see, the migratory chart in the link (middle page) is identical to the one Jacob showed. The page on the RIGHT is the actual DNA chart which shows percentages and would indicate clearly whether one were Jewish or Greek or what have you. This page is obviously different for everyone. Why did Jacob not show the actual DNA chart? If the whole purpose was to dispel the notion that he isn’t Jewish, then it is unfathomable that he would leave out the only paper from the DNA company that proves it in clear writing. For someone of Jacob’s caliber of intellect, I cannot but see this act as deliberate guile.

I am half Mexican. I say this because my father was Mexican. I have never said, “My father’s family was of Mexican descent.” But Jacob has made conflicting statements saying that his father’s family is of Jewish descent, but at other times that he’s not Jewish. I have no sympathies with Chris Rosebrough or any of our mutual enemies whatsoever. This ought to be plain to anyone. I have patiently and gracefully evaluated this independently and cannot make sense of this information except to conclude that Jacob appears to have deliberately given a false impression of being Jewish for many years. If this is to be refuted then the actual DNA page sent from IGENEA needs to be published. It was Jacob who opened this inquiry with his own defense. He, therefore, ought to clarify what he himself has confused. In this video he also claimed to have a “teudat oleh” (certificate of immigration) which says he’s of Jewish descent. He then goes on to say, “Yes, I was in the Jewish community, but I was never in the Jewish faith.” This is the type of obfuscation I would expect from Michael Brown. Which is it? Does Jacob have Jewish DNA or not? If not, how many in Moriel have known this and for how long? Dave Lister? Marco Quintana? John Haller? And if John Haller did not know this, again, I highly encourage him to evaluate what I just presented and to offer a better explanation of these facts.

I suspect that many on this mailing list have had similar doubts as this saga has unfolded but found it so awkward that it was simply easier to ignore it and convince yourselves that it didn’t matter. But it does. Not because it alters the teachings. It doesn’t. That’s what makes this so unfortunate. Jacob’s teachings speak for themselves and there was absolutely no need to do this. If he had simply made it clear that he wasn’t Jewish, but that he lived in Israel, married an Israeli woman and speaks the language and therefore has a close connection to this people, it would have been enough. But a false impression is as good as a lie. If it cannot be conclusively proven that Jacob has Jewish DNA, then Jacob and Moriel need to make a public statement addressing the issue and confess that deliberate and premeditated false impressions were given for decades. I know this is awkward and personal, but we are commanded to “… Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called.” (1 Cor. 7:20) and Jacob himself has taught against even leaning too heavily into another culture, much less taking on a different identity. If I have misjudged anything here (and I have carefully considered it for months), I wish for nothing more than to be proven wrong and this put to rest. But our brother Art raised these concerns to the Moriel board 2 weeks ago and a satisfactory response has still not been forthcoming. The next issue is a personal one as well and one that Jacob himself willingly divulged to the world.

#6 – Jacob’s Secular Business – South African Websites

I first heard that Jacob had a secular business in the form of a website when I was still producing videos for Moriel. He wanted to make a video about it to prove to people he makes money in other ways. Without knowing anything about it whatsoever, I immediately told him it was a bad idea to publish his personal business to the world and that I didn’t even want to know details as it was none of anyone’s business. He finally agreed and the subject was dropped. Approximately a year later, he did an interview with Amos Farrell disclosing this information. That video can be seen here:

He stated here and has stated elsewhere that he was able to put his children through private school and law school as a result of his profitable secular business. He disclosed in the video that he owned:

And then he challenged people to look it up. Of course his enemies did just this. But even at the time, I did not look into this, knowing their foaming obsession and propensity to lie about Jacob, myself and others to satiate their own appetite for vengeance. However, having considered it since, there are legitimate questions that need to be answered. Remember that it was Jacob himself who opened this door and therefore he needs to clarify. I own a few domain names myself and I can tell you that you don’t make money by simply owning a domain name. Unless they are being leased or purchased, you merely own a domain name. Speaking of the supposed income generated from these sites he stated, “I split the money. The ministry gets 60%, I take 40%.” So, 40% of that generated income was enough to put his children through private school and law school? How exactly were these websites monetized to generate sufficient funds for private education and law school? By what specific method did they generate steady income? Were they leased? Are they now? This supposed mechanism for generating money needs to be disclosed as I am not aware of any that exists and the only conclusion I can draw is that this is not truthful. This needs to be answered in a simple and straightforward manner. This is otherwise of no concern as a personal business venture, but he is speaking of this in the context of Moriel’s finances and indicating that he somehow funds Moriel with 60% of his private earnings. He appears to be saying this, at least in part, to assuage the concerns of those who noted his earnings from Moriel as indicated on their publicly available IRS 990 forms. Does he have a lucrative private business and still earn an average of $90K per year from Moriel as well? It was only after witnessing a consistent pattern of behavior from Moriel that is not in accord with Christian ministry that I began considering these other elements. Remember, it was Jacob himself who brought this to the attention of the world via Amos. If the secular business is so profitable, then Jacob’s earnings from Moriel as well as the general financial structure deserves a closer look.

#7 – Moriel’s Finances

I would have never questioned Moriel’s finances had these other elements not presented themselves. I was also apprised by Jacob of a situation in Australia that merits mentioning as it is at best a case in abysmal stewardship and anyone on this list who may donate to Moriel deserves to know how funds may be being managed (or not).

Some time after the former Moriel Australia administrator passed away and Moriel was in the process of replacing her Jacob said they were convening an emergency meeting to discuss some issue with missing funds. He said that approximately $100K had been embezzled by this woman (whose name I forget). He said there was no oversight of the Australia branch because they didn’t believe that much was being donated. It turns out the woman was apparently living handsomely due to Moriel’s neglect of stewardship. I don’t know much beyond this, but it further establishes a general pattern of negligence. I think the people who donated all that money deserve to know what exactly happened and how. The entire Moriel board should address this.

But as mentioned above, Moriel’s IRS 990 forms are publicly available here:

From 2013 to 2019 there are only two listed officers:
PRESIDENT: Jacob Prasch
SEC/TREASURER: David Lister

From 2014 to 2019 Jacob averaged approximately $90,000.00 per year. He says this is from “designated funds” which he is required by law to take. He has also indicated occasionally that he puts some of that money back into the ministry saying that there’s no law precluding him from doing so. He doesn’t say this outright, but that is the clear impression. Does this mean that Jacob is giving money from both his secular business and his Moriel earnings back to Moriel? None of this makes much sense. Again, since Moriel opened this door, I think Moriel needs to clarify precisely how Jacob is forced to take these “designated funds”. Neither Rick Warren nor Joel Osteen are required to do so as they both forego church funds and live off of book royalties. So, what are they doing that Moriel cannot? Also, Dave Lister had an average yearly earning of nearly: $70,000.00 for the same time period. Were those also designated funds or “restricted gifts”? I find it difficult to believe that designated funds in these amounts are offered this consistently.

Moreover, only Jacob and Dave Lister are listed officers who receive documented compensation on the IRS 990 form. But when I was at a meeting with them in California at the end of 2019, Jacob and Dave made it clear that Marco Quintana was receiving a stipend for his role as a board member. As I recall, they gave him a raise that day. But Marco is not listed on the Moriel 990 form. So how much is he being compensated as a board member? Why is his compensation not listed on these returns? Are the other board members also being compensated or is it just Marco? These are deeply important questions that the Moriel board needs to address collectively. This brings us to our last point.

#8 – Moriel Board Integrity

I suppose the most prudent question to begin with is: who is the board exactly? I know for certain that Jacob, Dave Lister and Marco Quintana are board members. I’m nearly certain that Blair Waugh is a board member and I know that Dave Royle at least used to be. But not every Moriel administrator is a board member. Is Sandy Simpson a board member? Is John Haller a board member or is he just a close friend and Moriel’s resident attorney? What specific role are Charles Jardine, Amos Farrell and Linda MacIntyre supposed to perform and is the entire board aware of their dealings as disclosed in this letter? They almost seem to act as a shadow board for this international ministry. These are crucial questions in establishing exactly how many people have allowed these things to evolve without remedy. As a side note: do Charles Jardine and Amos Farrell together own RTN TV or does Moriel own it? Is it a joint venture of sorts? This could explain the influence they seem to have.

The next question would be: what exactly is the function of the board? If one of those functions is not to represent Jesus well by providing sound biblical counsel and restraining evil when it presents itself, then the board is a meaningless formality or an imitation of the world. If the board has no power to curb these habitual corruptions, and actually engages in them as well (see #4 above), then the board is at best a paper tiger and at worst co-conspirators. Jacob is not alone in this. He has been helped along by the entire Moriel board. Any sins he may have committed personally and persistently, they have shared in. (1 Timothy 5:22). So, what exactly is the function of the board if these things have persisted?

Upon receipt of my March 31, 2020, email, which was sent to 20 Moriel administrators and/or close affiliates, Jacob spoke with me via Skype. Among other things, he said that my email would give Dave Lister and Marco Quintana grounds to say, “I told you so.” as if they had warned him about me. This is a very concerning statement. Please read that previous email if you have not already. Their silence in response to it betrays that Jacob was indeed correct. I began to question him about what exactly they would say, “I told you so.” about and the reply was nebulous but seemingly intended to dissuade me from making future objections of this sort. It is telling that the two closest people to Jacob with the most authority not only ignored that previous email, but apparently had concerns prior that I might dare to speak the truth, even if that meant opposing Moriel. Why? Because it was not the first time I was something of a wet blanket, voicing concerns about waywardness in Moriel.

The last time I was in England with Moriel in November 2019, as we arrived to the lodging place, Jacob was stirred up about Bill Randles and was eager to plot the next “move” against him. I told him that it was a waste of time and that I was weary of it and did not even want to talk about it. He, Amos Farrell and Marco Quintana then proceeded to have a meeting about this, fueling a fire that should have been suffocated long before that. My resignation from Moriel’s videography work was tendered shortly after I returned home. Some concerns were beginning to mount even then, though I did not know how large they would grow and as I said, I have voiced concerns to Dave Lister several times by phone in the past 2 years.

It appears then that the board is poised to protect Jacob and themselves from anything which opposes their actions whether it be grounded in God’s word or not. It is no Christianity at all which follows after anything or anyone other that Jesus Christ Himself. Of course, anyone can say this. “These people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me.” (Isaiah 29:13). But there is a pattern of the board protecting Jacob and themselves from accountability to the Lord. What good is accountability to others who are not themselves accountable to the Lord? Even Masons, Mormons and Catholics can do this.
In his email reply to me the same day, Jacob said,

“There are people in Moriel & RTN TV who like you Joshua, and there are those who frankly do not. I know you are aware of this. I had to throw my weight around to get some of your stuff on Moriel TV & RTN because it is excellent. But I have to negotiate.”

Isn’t it curious that the board intervenes when it comes to posting some video from me (at Jacob’s request, not mine), but not when making a speculative comment about someone having actual AIDS or any of the other horrible things addressed above? Believe me, when I say, I’m not moved by these things. I didn’t leave the world and follow Jesus to be liked by anyone except Him. I have an audience of One and I would urge everyone reading this to adopt this mind. Those who truly love Him will love each other as well. If anyone reading this doesn’t “like” me, that is your own issue with the Lord. I may not be likeable, but you will have to deal with these facts. They stand quite apart from the marred personality putting them forth.

As mentioned above, we know that at least 3 board members are compensated by Moriel: Jacob, Dave Lister and Marco Quintana. This generally presents a massive problem. Having paid board members so hinders objectivity and induces partiality that even secular organizations don’t do this. Since Dave and Marco are being compensated by Moriel, which effectively ceases to exist apart from Jacob, it makes sense that they are so reluctant to rebuke him or his helpers. Their livelihoods depend upon the Moriel ship staying afloat. Dave Lister’s approximately $70K per year is not chump change, and we don’t even know how much they pay Marco (but Moriel needs to disclose this). Jacob needs them to look the other way while he does as he pleases, and they need him to sustain their mode of living. It doesn’t have to be this way, and if they were self-policing, perhaps nobody would have ever cared or inquired. But the problems are so numerous that the sin of Eli in 1 Samuel 3:13 can be charged to the entire Moriel board. Each of them ought to have restrained or rebuked another, and they have habitually failed to do so. They have all engaged in this corruption and shared in the sins of others either by contrivance, by sufferance, by connivance, by compliance, by countenance, or by maintenance as is evidenced in all the above points which the Moriel board has been aware of. I have just described the collective actions of hirelings, not shepherds in any sense. Jacob knows I’m right and there is no scriptural justification in any language. Again, I remind you:
“To show partiality is not good, because for a piece of bread a man will transgress.” (Prov. 28:21)

[Edit: it has since been discovered that certain Moriel board members (including Dave & Marco) receive a Christmas “bonus” of $10,000.00 U.S. which may account for their silence. Also, board member Marco Quintana has purchased a 36 acre parcel of land in Tennessee near David Lister and the new home base for Moriel. The purchase price was $100,000.00. Did Moriel help pay for this? Did he tell his church he’s apparently planning to leave? Here’s the link to publicly available information:

CONCLUSION

What shall we say to these things? If Christ is not for this… who else can be? Can we imagine Martyn Lloyd-Jones engaged in any such things as referenced above? Or John Wesley, or A.W. Tozer, or even Walter Martin or Chuck Smith? I dare say that even less respected individuals such as Greg Laurie and John MacArthur would likely not be engaged in half of the utter garbage listed above. But forget these men. Can I imagine Jesus doing any of these things… even one? Would the Lord of glory conduct Himself in any such way? No. Those who attempt to justify any of this know not what manner of spirit they are of (Luke 9:55). What have we seen here but weapons of carnality? Scripture demands the opposite (2 Cor. 10:4). The use of ambiguous language, equivocation, obfuscation and technicalities such as was presented above was a theme of the Scribes. Consider this another “Woe!”. Jesus did not speak well of the Scribes, and their M.O. was to justify themselves by technicalities and to lean on their unmatched learning. Brother Zac Poonen has rightly said, “Our intellect is a marvelous and most useful gift of God, but it can become the most dangerous of all gifts if exalted to the place of lordship in our life.” The scribes were focused on technical details, but neglected the weightier matters: justice and mercy and faith; straining out gnats and swallowing camels. (Matt. 23:23-24). What good is prophetic accuracy and doctrinal astuteness if supreme love for the Lord is absent? (1 Cor. 13:2). Is the “sacrifice” of teaching truth what the Lord is concerned about if obedience is forsaken in the process? (1 Sam. 15:22). Jesus was clear that our love for Him is evidenced in our obedience to Him (John 14:15) and that houses are built on sand and ready to fall when the doing of His commands is forsaken (Matt. 7:26-27). The previous 8 points are fraught with such foul things even much of the world would be disgusted by them. But will they be overlooked because we heard many good teachings along the way? After all, I did not condemn Moriel of heresy, and doctrine is the most important thing, right? Well, this leads us to an interesting observation about why this was so necessary.

There is such a thing as teaching without teaching; teaching tacitly by action. When bad behavior (heteropraxy) is justified, this becomes a doctrinal issue. Is not the leaven of the Pharisees Jesus warned of, hypocrisy? When someone defends, even implicitly, what Scripture condemns, they are effectively teaching falsehood. One becomes a living false epistle known and read by all men (2 Cor. 3:2) which leads them astray by their deeds, making them two-fold hypocrites by coupling it with good paper theology. Or would we suggest that Jesus wants doctrine without practice and become neo-scribes and neo-pharisees in the process? The better the doctrine and the worse the lifestyle, the greater the condemnation, for “to whom much is given, from him much will be required.” (Luke 12:48). How many children are stumbled by hypocritical parents? And how many spiritual children have come to Moriel as a refuge; as a safe place for sound teaching, but are being subtly led astray by habitual acts of the flesh, known and justified by an entire group of men who are apt to teach and slow to obey even the rudimentary principles of Christianity? You have given place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27) to such a degree that I can say with absolute confidence, Satan’s bidding is being done, not Christ’s. Place is given to clandestine endeavors, retaliation and vengeance. Or does the scripture say in vain:

Make no friendship with an angry man,
And with a furious man do not go,
Lest you learn his ways
And set a snare for your soul.
(Proverbs 22:24-25)

Jacob has a teaching called “Those Who Drift” which is very helpful. It is a teaching based in Hebrews 2 in which he recounts a story of him swimming off the Mediterranean coast of Galilee. There were signs warning of the rip currents in this water, but he ignored the signs and went swimming. Out of nowhere the tide changed. A big wave hit him and one of his shoes came off. Wanting to get it back, he got off the rock he was positioned on to get his sneaker. Then another wave hit him, and the sneaker was even further from him, but he kept searching for it. When he turned around he said he couldn’t believe how far he had drifted from the rock and now he was caught in a rip current. It was a perilous experience which he narrowly escaped, by God’s grace. Concerning those who fall away from the Lord, he describes the drifting nature:

“They get lured by something temporal, then they take their foot off the rock. And before they know it, they’re in trouble. They drift so far so fast, they’re in big trouble, and they don’t even realize it at first. But before they know it, they can’t get back in.”

Jacob and Moriel don’t realize how far they have drifted. Those who drift never do, and Jacob confirms this in the teaching. He said that when one drifts that far in a rip current, it becomes hazardous for anyone else to go after them. This is a visual representation of deceiving and being deceived in another way. The one was deceived, not realizing that the temporal lure would cause them to drift so far. And God forbid, if others who are even less knowledgeable follow them out there, they are all deceived and in a miserable condition. This should be a sober warning for all reading this, especially Jacob. He cried out to Jesus that day, and he was saved despite being bloodied up a bit. The same Jesus is willing and eager to save any and all who call upon Him even today. But Jacob warns of that “point of no return” in the message. Part of the message is about being alone out there which he corresponds with lack of fellowship. But if there’s one thing worse than no fellowship, it is bad fellowship.

I’m reminded of Elvis Presley and his tragic ending. Arguably, a hastening factor in his downfall was the infamous “Memphis Mafia” which were a group of men who, desiring to bask in the limelight of Elvis, leeched off of him and fed his ego. These men did not tell Elvis what he needed to hear, but what he wanted to hear and acted as cheerleaders rather than counselors. He was crashing and burning, but their selfishness precluded intervention, and so they went along to get along. They mimicked Elvis and they enabled him. He was to them a cash cow. This does not negate the responsibility Elvis had in the ordeal, but only shows that those around him were a hindrance, hastening his demise rather than a help. I see this dynamic among many of those around Jacob. To my knowledge only myself and brother Art have voiced these very serious concerns. How, in God’s name, are they not accompanied by a dozen other voices within who claim they love the Lord? How have these concerns not been addressed by those who ought to know better and claim to care about Jacob? Self-interest engenders the type of enabling disposition seen in the Memphis Mafia and unfortunately Moriel Ministries.

“Do not be deceived: ‘Evil company corrupts good habits.’” (1 Cor. 15:33)

I cannot help but anticipate what I have seen from Moriel in the past as it pertains to justification of these actions as well as attacks against me for saying this. So let me address those here beforehand:

The concerns listed here have absolutely nothing to do with Jacob’s family. If the argument from Moriel is that Jacob had to do such and such to protect his son’s reputation or his family integrity, this simply holds no water. None of the 8 points above has anything to do with his son or his wife or anyone else in his family. In response to a different email he seemed to indicate that his mutual obsession with this coalition of enemies was justified because they attacked his son and his family. To my knowledge, Jacob’s son has been mentioned by them once or twice and this would still not justify the obsession as highlighted in point #1, much less the following 7 points. My concerns are independent, whether his enemies have voiced them as well or not. I have no sympathies with them or their hate-filled quest, so they are irrelevant to my listed concerns. There is no justification for these things no matter what the excuse. You cannot tell me that a fake Bethel Communications website was created to mock Deborah Menelaws in order to protect the integrity of Eli Prasch. Please don’t resort to such patently hollow “justifications”. That is simply a means of making these things sound noble when they are not; to render evil for evil that good might come.

Moriel may be inclined to say, “Look! Joshua has turned on us and is now persecuting us. This opposition is an attack from Satan and proof the Lord is with us because of our stance against error in the last days.” If this is the conclusion that anyone reaches, you truly have not heard anything I have said, nor have you prayerfully considered it. Moreover, which errors do Moriel oppose that I do not? This is empty talk. If you have placed yourselves in a position that is above rebuke and correction from others with pure motives and you see every statement of strong opposition as an act of persecution, then humble introspection is truly lacking. The Pharisees in that case could have charged Jesus with persecuting them as could Ephesus, Sardis or Laodicea and Ahab was then justified in his hatred of Micaiah (1 Kings 22:8). While opposition CAN be and often is a sign of the Lord’s blessing, sometimes it is a sign of necessary chastening from the Lord. David could have charged Nathan with such foolishness, but thankfully he listened as the rebuke was not merely from Nathan, but the Lord Himself. If the above points cannot be sufficiently addressed and refuted, then this charge will prove to be a knee-jerk response. Benny Hinn and others have often said such things to justify undeniable folly. Caesar and Brutus have no relevance here. As Jacob has said, “What did I say that wasn’t true?”

Neither is this some disputation akin to the separation of Paul and Barnabas. There is nothing doubtful about the behavior listed above. A babe in Christ could discern these things as clearly of the flesh. Jacob once said that proven loyalty covers a multitude of defects and was commending my loyalty to Moriel. To be sure, I am loyal to anyone who is loyal to the Lord Jesus and His word. I do not have loyalty outside of Christ Himself, lest I become the slave of two masters. Blanket loyalty to anyone or anything other than Jesus and His word is why we have so many problems in the church today. God forbid we should add to them with our own hypocrisy. Even Jesus’ enemies knew that He did not show personal favoritism (Luke 20:21). May we learn from Him alone.

Sadly, I cannot but help anticipate personal attacks as I have seen this from Moriel in the past. In one instance early on in my tenure with Moriel, a woman named Sally Richardson apparently had sympathies with David Nathan and was previously a Moriel supporter. Jacob made a public statement about her on Facebook regarding her failed marriage and divorce, saying something like, “We cannot comment on how her divorce may be affecting her thinking…” Even Moriel UK admin. Natalie told Jacob to remove the post as it was a low blow which had nothing to do with anything. Natalie further reminded him how he knew this for years and had been all too happy to accept Sally despite this when she was supporting Moriel. For Moriel’s own sake, I would strongly advise you do not attempt any such thing by hopping on a train of spurious false allegations leveled at me. I trust you won’t as Jacob himself has already defended me both publicly and privately. This is a prayerfully considered letter sent to a closed group of Moriel supporters, not some public video in the heat of the moment. Yet, if history has anything to say about this, I know Moriel will be tempted to attack me personally and publicly. Nevertheless, I feel compelled to save you from yourselves in this. You will find it an exercise in “kicking against the goads.” The Lord will not be with you in such an endeavor and will raise His hand against you, even as I believe it is being raised now. Don’t provoke Him further, but hear me and repent. It is not me you will be opposing.

Neither will any deflections serve this well. Some may be inclined to respond with a list of questions, straw-men or red herrings without giving any thought to what I said. This will prove to be nothing more than retaliatory distractions from the real issues raised here. Moriel has never had a real grievance with me that is worthy of publicizing, so if one suddenly emerges, you can be sure it is simply to get back at me for perceived betrayal.

Lastly, I feel compelled to share this warning with Moriel, which I believe the Lord showed to me concerning Moriel’s state. “Let the others judge.” (1 Cor. 14:29)

Approximately a month ago, I was reading in Luke 19. This passage seemed to leap off the page to me, and I was reminded of Moriel:

“Now as [Jesus] drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, ‘if you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and close you in on every side, and level you, and your children within you, to the ground; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, because you did not know the time of your visitation.’”
(Luke 19:41-44)
READ IT TWICE.

I fear that, like Jerusalem, Moriel has had every advantage (more than most) to know better and has trusted in its own strength in many ways. It is not for lack of knowledge or warning that destruction may come if repentance in sackcloth and ashes, as it were, is not forthcoming. But it will be a result of trusting in that mere knowledge and forgetting that apart from Christ you can do NOTHING (John 15:5). Simple obedience to Him is always our safest course. Jacob probably knows the history of this particular saga better than any of us. I would urge everyone reading this to study this history and pray the Lord to reveal to you if there is anything in this warning. Whether you find this passage meaningful or not, the 8 concerns above are valid and warrant undeniable warnings from every realm of Scripture. Yet I see a particular and most unfortunate parallel present in this passage, which I felt compelled to share. May the warning be heeded and any parallel in its conclusion be averted.

I regret that our mutual enemies may eventually gloat in this most unfortunate development and yet, I am bound in conscience to obey the Lord and trust He will work ALL things together for good to those that love Him and are the called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28). I do not live for what our enemies may do, but for what our Lord has done. Therefore, “as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’ And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear” (1 Peter 1:15-17).

You may see me as your enemy, but is it because I have spoken the truth? (Gal. 4:16). Yet, I am not your enemy. Enemies don’t have knots in their stomach when confronting someone. Enemies don’t worry about how a confrontation will affect the body of believers as a whole. Enemies don’t pray for those they are confronting with the true hope that repentance will result. I am not an enemy, but a friend; a friend who is grieved for Christ’s sake. A friend who speaks the truth even if he knows it will cost him the friendship and bring potential ridicule, giving ammunition to his true enemies. It has been said that your best friend is the one that tells you the most truth. I defy anyone reading this to refute what was presented and shed the same tears I have in their response to me. Don’t insult me by questioning my motives, please. Don’t harden your hearts. I fear I am watching a tale similar to Saul’s or Samson’s unfold and am I doing what I can, “pulling them out of the fire” (Jude 1:23)… and yes, I hate the flesh-defiled garments I’m seeing as well. It is my sincere prayer that true repentance will come as a result even if it means having to “deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.” (1 Cor. 5:5).

Given the gravity of this conclusion I felt it necessary to produce this arduous treatise of sorts. The matters are not light, nor was the conclusion hastily arrived upon. Until or unless these things are sufficiently and comprehensively addressed, I have no choice but to withdraw my public support of Moriel as a whole, judging those who are inside (1 Cor. 5:11-12).

However, my prayers will not be withdrawn. My intercession will not be withdrawn. My sincere desire to see a brother (or brothers) finish their race well, will not be withdrawn. I remain ready to receive whatever blows may come my way, knowing that I can stand before the Lord Jesus Himself with a clean conscience and say that this was done from faith, with sincere love for the brethren, and with a desire to be obedient to Him and in so doing, to glorify Him. May the Lord use this situation in accordance with His will, making much of Himself in the process and bringing good to His body for His sake. Amen.
